Four VINCI Energies business units were involved in building this 1,500-space car park that aims to expand low-carbon mobility in and around Antwerp.
Every day on Antwerp’s Left Bank, motorists find themselves stuck in traffic jams. To create an alternative to the car, the mobility operator Antwerpen Mobiel built P & R Linkeroever. This parking facility can accommodate 150 bicycles and 1,500 cars, with 150 spaces – upgradeable to 750 – equipped with electric charging points. With a tram stop, bicycle hire stations and access to the Antwerp bypass, P & R Linkeroever aims to inspire motorists to park on the outskirts of the Flemish city.
ITB, Cegelec Belgium, TranzCom and VINCI Facilities all brought their complementary expertise to construction of this multimodal parking facility.
ITB provided high- and low-voltage installations, access control and video surveillance. Cegelec Belgium equipped the facility with heating, ventilation and climate control (HVAC), toilets and fire protection. TranzCom was responsible for the radio network for the parking facility teams. Lastly, VINCI Facilities Belgium is responsible for the maintenance of P & R Linkeroever.
